RocketScreens supports offline playback for Screens, so your content plays even when the Wi-Fi is down.
RocketScreens supports offline playback for Physical and Desktop Players. Our Web Player offering does not currently offer offline playback.
Physical Players
The RocketScreens Android app available on Physical Players will always cache all content for offline playback automatically. You don't need to do anything to enable our app to do this. However, we suggest granting our app Storage Access permission for improved caching behavior.
This can be done one of several ways, depending on the age of your Android hardware:
- When installing our App from the respective App Store, you may be given the option to accept and allow some permissions. The permission for access to local storage will allow our app to use the offline playback functionality.
- When our App runs for the first time (after being registered), we will prompt for the permission if we don't already have it. A popup will ask you to allow us to access the permission or forbid it. Select the allow option.
- Finally, on most Android systems, you can manually change the permissions by going to our App settings. when going to the app settings, there is usually a tab for Permissions. This section will list all permissions our app is requesting, and which ones the app is allowed to use. Enable the permission.
Desktop Players
The RocketScreens Desktop app will also cache all content for offline playback automatically. You don't need to take any additional action on your side, our apps will do this by default.
Web Players
The RocketScreens Web Players do not currently support offline playback. This is something we're very interested in offering and are actively pursuing.
